Come to Klamath, California

Looking for an undiscovered California coastal destination of incredible natural beauty and tranquility?  The place you long for still exists.  It’s Klamath, California.

You’ll find us north of Eureka, south of Crescent City, on the majestic Klamath River as it meets the Pacific, right in the middle of Redwood National Park. Our village is tiny (800 friendly folks), but we have all of the amenities you’re looking for as you do your vacation planning, and none of the city trappings you’d like to leave behind.  And we have stunning forests, deserted rocky beaches, world-class salmon fishing, and hundreds of miles of pristine wilderness and trails just waiting for you to explore.

In all of Del Norte County, little Klamath offers the widest variety of lodging choices.  We have one of the best hostels in the country: where else can you stay right on the ocean for $20 a night?  We have charming cabins in the woods with all the comforts of home.  We have two incredible B&Bs: one a romantic retreat in the forest with a hot tub and massage therapist; the other a historic hotel operated in the European tradition of a country inn, geared for outdoor enthusiasts.  We have three excellent motels: one next to the area’s biggest tourist attraction;  another an immaculate, work-of-art with its amazing interior decorating and manicured gardens; and a third located within walking distance of the Klamath River’s famous fishing riffles and the regionally famous Steelhead restaurant.

Our proximity to the sea makes our climate incredibly mild, with most of our rain confined to winter.  That makes Klamath a perfect three-season vacation destination (four if you like watching the wrath of nature as winter Pacific storms pound our shore).

Have you marked Klamath on your vacation map?  See you soon.
